What Are the Advantages of Living in Queen Creek, Arizona?
The Queen Creek Valley, located at the foot of the San Tan Mountains, provides ideal soil for cultivating vegetables, potatoes, corn, cotton, and other crops. Queen Creek, Arizona, was a tranquil farming community well into the twentieth century. However, the town underwent exponential expansion during the 1990s and far into the 2000s. During that time, the population increased from 2,500 to 25,000 and beyond. But Queen Creek still maintains some of its farming heritage and is undoubtedly very family oriented.
Low Cost of Living
The cost of living in Queen Creek is less than many would think. Housing costs are lower when compared to Gilbert or Chandler, which run about 10 to 15% more than Queen Creek. Furthermore, you will have a newer home in Queen Creek, as most of the homes in those areas are older. So, you’re getting a more contemporary home with maybe a bigger yard at a better price in Queen Creek. I know, that’s pretty incredible!
Furthermore, the taxes in the area are less as well. Overall, you are getting a new and larger home and space with fewer taxes at a lower cost than in some other surrounding areas. I see that as a win/win!
Family Oriented
Queen Creek’s median age is 34, and the average family size is 3.79, and many of those families with little children live here. Queen Creek is also a safe place to raise a family due to its low crime and poverty statistics.
Because of this, the community offers many things for families to enjoy together. There are always interesting local events and activities that the locals can attend. Furthermore, a small farm named Schnepf Farms is open to the public for tours, events, and fresh produce. This farm is incredible!
Throughout the year, the farm has the most fantastic events. Many friends of mine will come to visit to go to the farm and attend their various events throughout the year. For example, there is a pumpkin patch throughout the fall and Halloween seasons. You can visit at Christmas to choose your tree and have yet another train ride. The lights here are so beautiful that time of year. This farm is one of the area’s main attractions as it continues to provide unforgettable experiences. Let me tell you; the kids adore it!
Furthermore, there are also numerous parks for children to play in throughout Queen Creek. For example, Mansel Carter Oasis Park, includes a fishing pond, baseball field, volleyball courts, skate park, and a playground. Other family activities you’ll find in the area are; Indoor soccer, volleyball, hockey, archery, and other sports available at the Barney Family Sports Complex. It’s a terrific spot for youngsters over the summer when it’s just too hot to play sports outdoors.
Regional Park of San Tan Mountain
The 10,200-acre San Tan Mountain Regional Park is located just south of town. Visit the Nature Center to learn about the Sonoran desert’s flora and to see the tortoises and other animals that live there. Again, another fantastic place to enjoy with your family.
While visiting the park, you may encounter various wildlife, such as coyotes, jackrabbits, reptiles, and birds. Walking around in the desert provides an excellent opportunity to teach children about nature and all it has to offer. The park provides a wonderful educational spot to show off things that your children should avoid, should they encounter them in the wild such as rattlesnakes, coral snakes, Gila monsters, and scorpions. There is no reason to fear or injure these animals, but children in Arizona must recognize, appreciate, and avoid them.
The park includes various routes that are easy for everyone to hike. The main entrance is located off Phillips Road and has a visitor center, toilets, animal exhibits, and a gift shop. Be sure to check out my blog Beautiful Home for Sale in San Tan Ridge for more information.
