The Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek Rodeo is an annual Queen Creek community event which celebrates the rural heritage of the Queen Creek area by providing a weekend of family fun that is centered around a host of free, animal oriented, kid friendly activities. These activities allow kids of all ages to participate in Queen Creek’s heritage to the level they are comfortable with, as well as typical county fair fun like a full sized carnival, professional PRCA rodeo, vendors, food and many other attractions.

Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek, presented by Banner Ironwood Medical Center, is excited to announce the opening of pre-registration for the Inaugural Special Kids Rodeo (SKR), sponsored by Hoofbeats with Heart.

Registration is limited to children between the ages of 5 and 14 receiving special education services that qualify through the Arizona Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).  Applications will be accepted until Friday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m., or until the first 100 entries have been received.  Although there is no charge for the SKR, parking is $5 per vehicle.

Siblings without special needs may not participate, however, they are invited to be spectators or participate in the Family Rodeo, Ranch Dressing and Xtreme Teen Rodeo events that are also taking place on Saturday.

SKR will provide several opportunities for participants: Agricultural Interaction, Agricultural Activities and Activities for the Whole Family.  Agricultural Interaction includes Branding, Feed/Tack/Brushing & Grooming, Buckaroo Picture Frame, and Paint the Horse. Agricultural Activities includes Goat Ribbon Run, Stick Horse Race, Ride the Bull and Learn to Rope. All Agricultural Activies participants will be assisted in each event.
