We receive many calls from potential home buyers who are ready to buy, but they don’t know where to begin! Taking those first steps towards buying a home can be difficult if you don’t know where to start. Real estate is constantly changing, so even experienced home buyers may not be certain on how to start the process.
Step 1: The very first step towards buying a home is to identify a local real estate expert who you can trust to guide you through the home buying process from start to finish. Step 2: Unless you are paying cash for your home, this step will be critical and necessary for you to officially begin your house hunting adventure. You will need to contact a local lender and start the pre-qualification process for your loan. This is a fairly painless process, but one that will require you to provide the lender with some paperwork and basic information. The lender will also run your credit during this time to determine your credit score. Once the lender has taken a look at your specific financial situation, they will issue a formal pre-qualification stating the terms by which you qualify to purchase i.e. loan amount, if seller assistance is needed, the maximum allowable monthly payment, etc. Once you have a formal pre-qualification form (PQF) provided by your lender, then we will be ready to start house hunting!
If you are ready to take your first steps towards buying a home, then we are here to help you! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you are looking for advice or referrals to trusted local lenders, we will be happy to help you get started on your journey!
