Keep Your Sewer Rate Low By Conserving Water

Sewer rates are recalculated annually and go into effect every year in July. July’s new sewer charge will appear on the water bill you receive the first week of August. The water consumption used to calculate your sewer charge can include water used during all or a portion of October, November, December, January and February depending on when your water meter is read. We choose these months because, for most households, this is when the least amount of water is being used outside of the home.

You can help reduce or keep your sewer rate low by participating in water conservation practices during this period. The less water you use during the winter months, the lower your sewer rate will be for the next year (beginning in July). Visit QueenCreekAZ.gov/WaterGuides to view landscape watering guidelines online. Should you experience a significant water leak or fill a swimming pool during the sewer averaging period, you may qualify for a sewer rate adjustment. If you wish to submit an adjustment request, please visit QueenCreekAZ.gov/SewerReview for more information.
