Getting Your House Ready to Sell
April 6, 2018
Getting your house ready to sell can seem like a daunting task. Most people don’t know where to start and feel stress about how much needs to be done. As a Realtor in Queen Creek we come across homes where the owner didn’t do enough and others where they went overboard. So the question is… If you could pick four of the most important things to do when getting your house ready to sell what would they be?
#1 – Cut The Clutter
It is easy to get overwhelmed in any space when there is so much stuff around you. Only leave large furniture items and things you absolutely need. Sell, donate, or store all of the small items you don’t use on a daily basis.
#2 – Deep Clean
Hire a professional to make sure your home is as clean as possible. You’ll want to have everything cleaned from the baseboards to the blinds. When the house is sparkling and smells fresh, it’s easier for a perspective buyer to envision your home being their home.
#3 – Fresh Paint
Fresh paint is a must to make your home look clean and new. It can lighten and brighten a room very quickly! Choose neutral colors that match the flooring. This will help create a blank canvas for your buyers to make the home theirs after they move in.
#4 – Create an Inviting Front Entry
The first impression of the house is the most important! Clean and sweep your front entry way, removing any and all leaves, dirt, or spider webs. Additionally, make sure the front entry decorations are to a minimum. You want any potential buyers to be focused on your inviting front door.
